Labor Code: the ratification law published in the Official Journal
The law ratifying ordinances reforming the labor code was published Saturday in the Official Journal
The law of ratification of the ordinances reforming the labor code was published Saturday in the Official Journal, putting an end to the legislative path of this reform defended by the Minister of Labor Muriel Pénicaud.
The ordinances reforming the Labor Code entered into force at the end of September, as soon as they were published in the Official Gazette, but they had to be ratified to have legislative value.
The reform was launched in June 2017, at the beginning of the five-year period with the enabling bill authorizing the government to legislate by ordinance.
These orders are designed to give businesses more flexibility. Among the flagship measures are the ceiling on industrial tribunal allowances in the event of unfair dismissal, the new job preservation agreements, the merger of staff representative bodies, the possibility of negotiating agreements with ordinary employees in less than 20 employees.
Mrs Pénicaud will shortly present a bill, supposed to secure the career of workers, which will reform vocational training, apprenticeship and unemployment insurance.
This text is presented as a supplement to the ordinances on the labor code.
